Florida Projects

In 1988, Humana, Inc., with whom we were working across the country, requested Wehr to send a team to Tampa, Florida, to assume a project from another general contractor. Wehr employed the existing project manager and his team, all of whom are still with our company. Following successful completion of the project, this team formed the nucleus of Wehr’s new Florida office. The original project manager, John Gaver, is now Executive Vice President and leads the operations for the Florida Division.  Under his leadership, Wehr Constructors has been the construction company of choice for Humana and HCA facilities across the state.

In Florida, Wehr focuses exclusively on healthcare, with continuing repeat business from several major hospital systems, including:  Morton Plant Mease Healthcare, Bay Care Health System, All Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. In addition, our vast experience and 20+ years in healthcare construction defines us as a leader in building and renovating healthcare facilities.
