
CHRISTIAN ACADEMY OF LOUISVILLE
A 275,000 square foot school encompassing kindergarden through 12th grade on
a 65 acre site. The exterior is of Georgian design with brick, arriscraft stone
base, plasterglas columns and focal point moulding. There are separate two-story
wings for the Elementary, Middle School, and High School. In each two-story
wing there is an elevator. On the site are three baseball fields, a football
field and three other fields for lacross and soccer.
Each wing contains the Administration office for those grades. The one-story section of the building houses general administration offices, a large kitchen and cafeteria, elementary library, media center,an auditorium with stage, bookstore, band & music rooms, and two gymnasiums with lockers rooms. The gymnasium has a running trackaround the upper perimiter that allows access to mechanical rooms between the two gymansiums and the fitness center.
In the Elementary wing there are six kindergarten classrooms and five classrooms each for first through fifth grades. There is a large science and art rooms for the elementary grades. The Kindergarden through second grade classrooms all have restrooms in each classroom. The Middle School has 23 classrooms, an art room, three science classrooms and two computer labs. The High School wing consists of a large Home Economics room, Art Room, 30 classrooms (a couple of these are computer labs), four science rooms and two biology classrooms. All High School clasrooms and corridors other than science, Home Ec, and Art rooms are carpeted.
The cafeteria seats 386 students. Both gymnasiums are high quality wood flooring.
There are girls and boys lockerrooms for both gymnasiums. The auditorium seats
700-750 people and has carpeted aisles.
